Renée Schatteman is an associate professor of English at Georgia State University where she teaches postcolonial literature and assists with teacher education. She specializes in the study of African literature and has co-written a curriculum guide entitled Voices from the Continent: Select Works of African Literature (Africa World Press), has edited Conversations with Caryl Phillips (University Press of Mississippi), and has published several articles on and interviews with African writers.
