His research interests include narrative ethnographical studies of alternative schooling, composition instruction, service learning, and pre-service teacher preparation. He is a former high school English teacher who currently teaches introductory composition courses at Purdue and serves as a research assistant for Purdue\u2019s Gifted Education Resource Institute.
