Critical Praxis<\/strong><\/p>\n

The meeting ground of theory and practice, praxis a place with the potential to be transformative. It is not just thinking or reflecting about our action; it means taking further action as a result of our thinking and this action. In this way, the two are seen as acting upon each other as if in a\u00a0dialectal dance.<\/em>\u00a0Publications in this strand\u00a0provide an opportunity to acknowledge, explore, celebrate, question, and extend the range and variety of educational practices,\u00a0 including the challenges and engagements for the growth and development of our local, national, and international communities for the betterment of all humankind. We welcome papers and reports from PK-12 and post-secondary educators in teaching and learning contexts as well as those that discuss policies. We welcome works that acknowledge the joys, triumphs, and challenges of teaching and learning in traditional institutional settings.<\/p>\n

Research<\/strong><\/p>\n

Publications in this strand discuss recent trends in research and theory in the fields of language arts, literature, arts, literacy, and related fields. A wide range of formats and methodologies is accepted, including qualitative research, quantitative studies, narrative research, single case studies, ethnography, content analysis, discourse analysis, surveys, experiments mixed methods research, conceptual and theoretical pieces, and meta-analyses. All submissions should provide implications for research, practice, and\/or policy. Manuscripts should not exceed 30 double-spaced pages, excluding references, tables and other material.<\/p>\n

Creative Works<\/strong><\/p>\n

\"creative_bar\"<\/p>\n

This strand solicits and celebrates original literary work, artistic expressions, and other creative compositions (e.g. drama, poetry, music, fictional or documentary film, and photography) \u00a0from students, educators, writers, and artists. The overarching goal of this strand is to showcase \u00a0the interrelationship of literature, literacy and the arts through different genres, forms, and media.<\/p>\n
